The Arts and Education Council builds appreciation, participation and assist for arts and arts schooling by the St. Louis community. In 2014, Courtney Weida, Ed.M.’04, an affiliate professor of art schooling and the director of graduate art education at Adelphi University, co-authored The South Station Hoard: Imagining, Creating and Empowering Violent Stays and edited Crafting Creativity and Creating Craft: Craftivism, Art Education, and Contemporary Craft Tradition She has contributed articles on a wide range of art-training matters to the Journal of Cultural Research in Artwork Schooling, the Journal of Social Idea in Artwork Schooling, the Journal of Visible Tradition and Gender, and other publications.
She started with Framing Schooling as Art: The Octopus Has a Good Day (New York: Lecturers College Press, 2005); continued quickly thereafter with Why Our Faculties Need the Arts (New York: Lecturers School Press, 2008), Bizarre Gifted Kids: The Energy and Promise of Individual Consideration (New York: Lecturers College Press, 2010), and Why Our Excessive Schools Need the Arts (New York: Teachers College Press, 2012).
Partnering with Vans Custom Culture, Individuals for the Arts has designed the Arts Education Navigator, a collection of e-books covering quite a lot of matters with the aim of serving to educators, college students, and advocates alike navigate the advanced area of arts schooling.
